Florence’s offices for public relations can now activate the new electronic health card.
The health card has multiple functions: it also provides proof of identity and tax code. The card is proof of European health insurance and serves as a national identity card, enabling certified identification and access to online services of the City of Florence and other public services.
Those holding the card can now view their health details, stored in electronic health folders, on a computer or a smart card reader.
To activate the health card (free of charge) go to Florence’s offices for public relations (URP) in Florence, in piazza Libertà 12, via del Tagliamento 4 and via delle Torri 23. Offices are open from Monday to Wednesday and on Fridays from 9am to 1pm and on Thursdays from 9am to 2pm and from 2:30 to 5:30pm.
The card must be presented along with a valid form of ID. The cardholder will receive a PIN number for online services upon activation of the card.
