During a meeting held at the Palazzo Vecchio, Mayor Dario Nardella announced an “orange” weather warning from midnight to 6pm on March 1. All schools throughout the Metropolitan Area of Florence will be closed on March 1, including kindergartens and universities. (Schools in Calenzano, Palazzuolo sul Senio, Firenzuola, Barberino di Mugello, Scarperia e San Piero and Vicchio will remain open.) Trams and buses are expected to run, depending on meteorological conditions.
