How to get a Covid-19 vaccine in Florence and Tuscany

As Tuscany’s hospitals begin to close Covid-19 wards, the vaccination effort is being taken to another level. The over-60s can now receive a single shot of Janssen – Johnson & Johnson in Florence’s pharmacies and the regional booking website to open to everyone aged over 16. Large companies are also starting to vaccinate their employees on the premises.

 

 

Here’s how to get a Covid-19 vaccine in Florence and Tuscany.

 

 

 

At the pharmacy

 

 

Single shot Janssen – Johnson & Johnson are now available in Florence’s pharmacies for Italian residents aged between 60 and 69. Farmacia comunale San Niccolò (via de’ Renai 9R) Farmacia comunale Europa (viale Europa 191) are the two municipal pharmacies providing this service at present. Appointments can be made in person at any of the 21 municipal pharmacies or by phoning the pharmacies (Farmacia comunale San Niccolò; 055 2343892; Monday to Friday 9am-1:30pm, 3.30-8pm; Saturday 9am-1pm; Farmacia comunale Europa; 055 6531400; daily 9am-7pm). Everyone who lives in Florence and Tuscany aged over 16 years can now book an appointment to receive the Covid-19 vaccine using the regional website: https://prenotavaccino.sanita.toscana.it/#/home. You will need to provide your codice fiscale (tax code) number to register.

 

Check the website’s Last Minute feature daily from 7pm to midnight to see if doses are available near you within the next 48 hours. You can use this service even if you already have an appointment booked; the system will automatically cancel the other booking as soon as you choose a last-minute slot. You will be informed about the type of vaccine before you confirm the appointment. You can use this service if you’re over 30 years old.

On your company premises

 

 

Several large companies, such as Baker Hughes, Unicoop Firenze and Eli Lilly, have started to vaccinate their employees on the premises. Check with your employer to find out if this is an option.
