The Alinari Brothers have long connected Tuscany to the photography industry. With their innovative photographic techniques at the turn of the 20th century, the Florentine company was at the vanguard of photography. Today, Tuscany may once again be pushing towards the forefront in image technology. An agreement made last week between Japanese company Hitachi, the Tuscany Region, and the University of Florence will now lead the way to innovative local research in digital imagery.
