Rome’s Teatro Sistina is offering a summer academy to train future performers and producers.

The academy’s programme will involve six to seven hours per day ofLcartoon dubbing and set design. The academy will focus on understanding and interpreting English scripts as well as correct English pronunciation.

“This is a project I have been nurturing since I arrived,” said Massimo Romeo Piparo, director of Teatro Sistina and musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar and My Fair Lady. “We will develop young talent, and we may see the next Billy Elliot emerge … but we will be really happy if this programme also develops future organizers, theatre administrators and enthusiastic spectators,” he said.

The course is scheduled for July 4–August 5 and August 29–September 15. The course will cost 1,480 euro, although two places will be free for those with limited financial means.

Selection will take place on June 6.

Candidates will be chosen based on talent and enthusiasm. For more information, visit the academy website
