Florence makes way for an onslaught of holiday merry-makers who can’t wait to sample the city’s cultural offering. Although state museums are closed December 25 and January 1, there are special openings as follows, including scheduled Friday night late openings and the free first Sunday

Florence makes way for an onslaught of holiday merry-makers who can’t wait to sample the city’s cultural offering. Although state museums are closed December 25 and January 1, there are special openings as follows, including scheduled Friday night late openings and the free first Sunday of the month for state museums.

 

 

Bargello Museum

-Friday, December 26, open late 8:15am to 9pm

-From December 27 to Jan 6 inclusive, open 8:15am to 5pm (in the winter it is normally not open in the afternoon)

-Open and FREE on Sunday January 4, 2015 (for “Domenica al museo”)

-Closed New Years Day and Monday January 5, 2015

 

Uffizi and Accademia Museums

-Open and FREE on Sunday January 4, 2015 (for “Domenica al museo”)

-Open Monday January 5, 2015

 

Medici Chapels

-Extended hours from December 26 to January 6: 8:15am to 4:50pm

-Open and FREE on Sunday January 4, 2015 (for “Domenica al museo”)

 

Museo di Storia Naturale sezione Antropologia

-Extended hours from December 15, 2014, to January 31, 2015: M-F, 9:30am to 5pm, Sat-Sun, 10am to 5pm, closed Wednesdays.

Monday January 5, 2015, while state museums would normally be closed, the following properties will be OPEN

Giardino della Villa medicea di Castello (8.15 – 16.30);

Villa medicea di Cerreto Guidi (8.15 – 16.30);
Cenacolo di Ognissanti (9 – 12);
Cenacolo di Sant’Apollonia (8.15 – 13.50);
Chiostro dello Scalzo (8.15 – 13.50).
