More than 30,000 people took part in Corri la vita this morning in Florence, raising 500,000 euro for breast cancer research.

At 9:30am Italian sport shooter Niccolò Campriani, accompanied by Bona Frescobaldi, president of the non-profit association CORRI LA VITA Onlus and Stefano Pioli, manager of ACF Fiorentina football club, began the fifteenth edition of the Florentine version of the Run for Life.

The participants, wearing navy blue t-shirts sponsored by Salvatore Ferragamo, took part in the 11km run or the 5.5km walk, skirting little-known cultural sights, such as Palazzo Strozzi, Forte Belvedere, Museo Novecento, the new museum layout of Santo Spirito, Museo di Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Museo Ferragamo, Orto Botanico, Museo di Storia Naturale – sezione Paleontologia, Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati and Museo Casa Rodolfo Siviero.

Donations to Corri la vita are welcome year round.
