The American International League of Florence Onlus is hosting an organizational meeting for the upcoming International Breast Cancer Paddlers Commission Dragon Boat Festival, a non-competitive sporting event held every four years, in which the Firenze in Rosa Onlus group will take part. All are welcome at the meeting, which will take place in the Harold Acton Library of the British Institute on October 23 at 5pm.

The Dragon Boat Festival brings together teams of breast cancer survivors for fun on the Arno river, aiming to promote a healthy, active and fulfilling lifestyle to affected women.

Set to take place in July 2018, the festival will need volunteers on deck to help stuff “swag bags,” sell T-shirts and merchandise, organize logistics and coordinate booths, as well as 120 ambassadors to serve as key contacts for the visiting teams (from Singapore, Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina and several English-speaking countries).

For more information about the festival, see the website.
