Over 500 wines will be ripe for sampling at the third edition of the Wine&Siena showcase and fair, scheduled for January 27 and 28 and organized by the Merano WineFestival and Confcommercio Siena. Taking place across four prestigious venues—Palazzo Comunale, Palazzo del Rettorato, the historic headquarters of Monte dei Paschi di Siena at Palazzo Salimbeni, and the Grand Hotel Continental Siena – Starhotels Collezione—the event will bring together some 150 wineries and 10 culinary companies for two days of tastings, product presentations, masterclasses and conferences.

Numerous cooking shows are also in the lineup, with several of the highlights set for Saturday afternoon: pasta takes center stage at a lunch hour presentation (1.30pm), while prosciutto and bubbles make a playful afternoon pairing (5pm).

Participation at the festival is merit-based: featured producers are selected from among the recipients of The WineHunter Award, a point-based rating system with Platinum, Gold and Red designations.
