Go behind the scenes of the Accademia Gallery in Florence with a virtual visit.

While the museum is closed to the public due to government restrictions, work continues under Cecilie Hollberg‘s renewed direction. Taking part in the #50pere1museo initiative with the Associazione Amici del Museo, Associazione Giovani Amici dei Musei d’Italia and FIDAM (Federazione Italiana Amici dei Musei), the gallery is participating by releasing five masterpieces via their social channels along with a caption. The Accademia is also fine tuning their soon-to-be released online gallery.

Learn with Davidino

Another campaign recently launched by the Accademia is #iorestoacasa…and I learn with Davidino. Keen to keep children learning and stimulated by culture, a special guide, Davidino, accompanies young visitors through their online learning. Drawings inspired by the iconography of the saints and polyptychs in the collection can be found on the museum’s website. Keep an eye on the Accademia’s Instagram @galleraccademiafirenze and Facebook @galleriadellaccademia, where you can find stories about and insights into many of the masterpieces each week. Tag your own creations with the dedicated hashtag #giococondavidino and the Accademia will share them on their Facebook.
