The five most beautiful images of Villa Bardini’s magnificent wisteria covered archway will be shared on Villa Bardini’s Instagram for a public vote between April 30 and May 1.

Full flowering is expected to occur in mid-April, with the insta-worthy wisteria returning to adorn and bring its various shades of purple to the pergola, overlooking one of the most spectacular views of Florence. Visitors to the Bardini gardens are eagerly awaiting this flowering which, like every year, should begin around the second half of the month. Often showcased on social media, the flower-covered archway has become a symbol of the villa.

To celebrate its beauty, the Fondazione CR Firenze, in collaboration with Fondazione Parchi Monumentali Bardini e Peyron, once again presents the #GlicineBardiniContest to reward the most beautiful photo published on Instagram. The top five photographs voted by the @VillaBardini community will be displayed in an exhibition set up in the rooms of the villa in the days following the flowering. The winner will be the photo that receives the most “likes”, and will be featured on Villa Bardini’s “postcard of the year”, available to buy in the bookshop. The creator of the winning photo will also receive two free tickets to the Bardini Garden and Villa Bardini exhibitions, valid throughout 2022.

The contest is open to everyone: follow @VillaBardini on Instagram, visit the garden by April 29 and post a photo of the wisteria on your profile using the tag @villabardini and the hashtags #VillaBardini and #GlicineBardiniContest.
