“One hundred years after his death, Florence remembers Stefano Bardini with many initiatives, including this important artistic project that will allow you to discover his activity as a collector and patron up close,” highlights deputy mayor and councillor for culture, Alessia Bettini.

The carefully curated exhibition by Giulia Coco and Marco Mozzo includes a selection of archived documents, objects, work tools and artistic testimonies from the collections of Palazzo Mozzi Bardini to demonstrate the entrepreneurial activities of Stefano and his son, Ugo. The intention is to illustrate the complex methodology and artisanal system implemented by the Bardinis through the striking dialogue between certain works of the Bardini Museum and a significant collection of documents, photographs, artefacts and work tools preserved in Palazzo Mozzi Bardini

“Florence owes a great deal to the ‘Prince of Antique Dealers, also for the construction of an image that has always prevailed in the world of its artistic and collecting history, and for its high-end craftsmanship,” explains Stefano Casciu, regional director of the museums of Tuscany. “This is an initiative that opens a pathway that will continue over the years, in view of the complete restitution and enhancement of the immense Bardini heritage, and which will still hold exciting surprises.”
