Some
140 contemporary artworks from the Terrae Motus collection, until now kept in
deposits, are on display to the public for the first time in the new exhibition
spaces recently opened at the celebrated Reggia di Caserta (‘Royal Palace of
Caserta’) today a museum. After being closed for decades and then an extensive
restoration, all of the rooms of the royal apartments are now open to the
public. Among the objects and artworks on display are watches, furniture, decor
items, French-made handicrafts and more. Constructed in the mid-1700s by the
Bourbon kings of Naples, the Reggia di Caserta was the largest palace and one
of the largest buildings constructed in Europe during the eightheenth century.
The Palace has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. For more
