Promoting young architects is the focus of a recent
accord between Rome’s Maxxi Museum of Contemporary Art and New York’s Museum of
Modern Art (MoMa). The two institutions have launched Yap_Maxxi, the Italian
version of MoMa’s acclaimed Young Architects Program, established in 2000.
Yap_Maxxi will give young architects, designers and artists a chance to design
a space for live outdoor events, usually held in summer, in the large courtyard
of the Maxxi in Rome.
