It is called Autobau Pet Taxi, and it is Milan’s alternative transport service for dogs and cats and other domestic animals-and, yes, their owners. The 24/7 service is already a hit among pet owners in who do not have cars. The taxi is the brainchild of Gianluca Baldon, who told Corriere di Milano, ‘Working in the sector, I realized that one of the biggest problems of pet owners without cars is transportation … Not all taxi drivers accept pets in their cars: I transport animals with and without their owners.’ Baldon charges 45 to 50 euro for a one-hour or one-and-a-half hour ride. Similar taxi services operate in New York and Chicago.
