Honoured in the East

On September 10, the Italian Pavilion at the Expo in Shanghai will premiere a Mandarin translation of the humanist manifesto, De hominis dignitate, by Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. Written during the Renaissance, its discussion on the character, rights and nature of Man made it one of the world’s most revolutionary philosophical texts. Published by BeiDa University Press, the translation was possible thanks to a collaboration with Pier Cesare Bori, professor at the University of Bologna and Brown University of Providence, Rhode Island.
