Dante in
Concert is a musical work
conceived as an interior journey through the characters of the Comedy,
chosen as the representatives of humanity and history, and thus fixed into the
collective consciousness of all,’ reads the album jacket.

These words were written by former prime minister and life senator
Giulio Andreotti when he presided over the Casa di Dante in Rome, and the album
is the work of pianist Franco Eco.

On this concept album inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, each
song is dedicated to the epic poem’s best known characters, such as Paolo and
Francesca, Ulysses, Count Ugolino, Pier della Vigna and Farinata degli Uberti.
The final piece is dedicated to 33rd Canto of Paradise.
