At a difficult moment, when the Catholic church faces sex scandals worldwide, Vatican supporters are making an effort to bring the faithful closer to the pope. Now a new service puts believers and the pope in direct contact. Roman Catholics can now send text messages to Pope Benedict XVI through a service launched by Rai television’s Sunday religious programme, In His Image. All messages sent to +39 335 18 63 091 will be relayed to the pope by the end of May, the presenter said, and will later be shown on the RAI Uno show.
