Need help assembling
a bookcase? Got a leaky faucet? Need someone to take the car to the mechanic?
No problem. Just rent a husband.

Founded in the
northern Italian city of Monza, the Rent-a-husband cooperative now has over 50
employees nationwide, men who offer their services to women, married or single,
who need odd jobs done in and around their homes.

The cooperative has
been so successful that it decided to open up shop in Tuscany. ‘Husbands’ are located in Florence and Pistoia, and rates start at 20 euro an hour. Those
seeking assistance can go to www.ilmaritoinaffitto.it and select the local
handyman or ‘husband’ they prefer.
