Fratelli Piccini is much more than a century-old artisan jewellery maker and top brand retailer on the Ponte Vecchio. The family is contemporary minded too, committed to giving back to Florence’s charity and arts scenes.

On Sunday, September 17, families will enjoy a day out at Circolo Golf Ugolino, just outside Florence, for the Fratelli Piccini Golf Challenge. The annual event is open to all players, both adults and children, keen to try their hand at the historic 18 holes of the oldest golf course in Italy.

Fratelli Piccini has been supporting this fun sporting event since 2010, with monies going to Fondazione Italiana di Leniterapia, a charity ensuring that terminally ill patients and their families receive the support they need, as well as promoting scientific research and continued professional development in the medical field.

At the ninth hole golfers can cool off with refreshing granita ice drinks by Florentine gelateria Il Gelato di Carlotta, while the end of the challenge will be celebrated with an awards ceremony followed by drinks and a buffet dinner. This year, the evening event has been opened to all, whether taking part in the tournament or not, or even if you’ve never shopped at Fratelli Piccini; just call 055 294768 and ask for Josephine Borriello before September 13. From 7pm expect live music and a DJ set jazzed up with light effects to bring the day to an upbeat end as models mingle with guests adorned with Fratelli Piccini’s own exquisite jewellery lines.

The atelier’s busy September season continues with a special sponsorship of the Antiques Biennial. For the occasion, Fratelli Piccini will exhibit some of its most historic pieces from the family collection in the sumptuous halls of Palazzo Corsini, a moment that will be celebrated on September 23 with a by-invitation-only evening in the former Banco di Roma branch, adjacent to Hotel Helvetia & Bristol.

Antiques Biennial exhibitors and their clients are invited to a lounge bar on the bijou first floor of Fratelli Piccini on the Ponte Vecchio from September 21-24, from 11am to 7pm. For the occasion select antiques both from the family collection and an antiquarian exhibiting at the Biennial will be shown in the exquisite space, an accessory to the permanent exhibition.
