In its historic centre, the city of
Lucca recently unveiled four kiosks equipped with touch-screen multimedia to
information and services for tourists and locals alike.
Located in piazza della Stazione, Piazzale Verdi (at
via S. Paolino), porta Elisa, and viale Luporini (at the information offices
managed by Itinera), the info points can be accessed 24/7, in English or
Italian. They provide information about local activities, services and events,
as well as the history, monuments, art, culture and traditional culinary
products of the city and province.
The info points, continuously updated, also provide
city maps, weather forecasts and current news.
The City of Lucca next plans to expand the project,
launched in collaboration with Versilia, installing info points in other parts
of the city and province.
