ph. Mary GrayLines are about to get even longer at the famous sandwich shop All’Antico Vinaio, a stone’s throw from Florence’s most heavily trafficked tourist sites. The casual locale in via de’ Neri, a budget-friendly hotspot best known for its local wines and giant 5 euro schiacciate sandwiches, is now the world’s most reviewed eatery on TripAdvisor.
All’Antico Vinaio has flown past five-star restaurants around the globe, earning 8,425 reviews. It was 2014’s most-reviewed eatery, but only surpassed the all-time world record on Monday, August 31, ousting Mon Ami Gabi, a French restaurant in Las Vegas.
On All’Antico Vinaio’s Facebook page, owner Tommaso Mazzanti called the achievement ‘a crazy honor for my family and me.’ To celebrate, the shop will offer free glasses of Chianti wines from 7pm to 10pm on Wednesday, September 2.
