Ditta Artigianale, the café from Florence’s specialty coffee roaster, will open its first North American location in Toronto on September 21. The 40-seat café will be located at 604 Richmond Street West on the ground floor of The Harlowe condominium.
Open seven days a week, Ditta Artigianale Toronto will serve specialty coffee, pastries, brunch, small plates and aperitivo. Cocktails will feature Peter in Florence gin, an artisanal Tuscan spirit in which the company holds a minority stake.
Founded in 2013 by world-renowned barista and roaster Francesco Sanapo alongside Patrick Hoffer, Ditta Artigianale offers the highest quality coffees from Italy and around the world with a focus on total transparency and sustainability throughout the supply chain. The brand’s philosophy is based on researching the most exclusive micro-lots, establishing direct relationships with producers and engaging in special roasting techniques to give consumers a unique, quality-orientated experience.
Sanapo is the personification of coffee, winning Italy’s best roaster in 2019 and being a finalist on two occasions in the World Barista Championship. His love and passion have spread to Ditta Artigianale staff, who have won a combined four Italian barista championships.
