Ruffino provides you with plentiful opportunities to experience wine tours and tastings in the breathtaking setting of the Poggio Casciano estate, 30 minutes from Florence.

The Poggio Casciano estate is situated in the most beautiful of locations, poised between wholesome woodland and vast verdant swathes of vineyards. It is believed to date back to Ancient Roman times: poggio means a terrace on a hilltop and Casciano is supposed to come from Cassius, a commodore in the Roman army who was given major land holdings in the local area. Today, Poggio Casciano is the centre of Ruffino’s elevated wine hospitality operations, vaunting elegant country house accommodation at Casa Ruffino; delicious dining at Tre Rane restaurant; and an upscale wine and grocery store selling Tuscan specialty foods and all Ruffino wines at Enoteca Ruffino. But one of the main reasons for visiting Poggio Casciano remains the variety of tours and tastings aimed at introducing wine lovers to Ruffino’s extraordinary oenological past and present.

Guests will be welcomed by everything that Ruffino represents worldwide: art, history and the aromas and flavors of Tuscany at its most authentic. Brand ambassadors introduce visitors to every aspect of the Poggio Casciano estate and the world of wine in general. All the tours end with a Ruffino wine tasting, paired with local delicacies. Some tastings include barrel samplings to discover all the secrets of wine ageing, while others offer opportunities to taste historic vintages that elicit rare and timeless emotions. Tours and tastings are available by appointment from Monday to Saturday and include a walk through the old cellars. Special events can be organized on Sundays. Tours are available in Italian and English.
