Giacomo Milano returns to Il Salviatino Firenze for a second season. One of the most beautiful and impressive Tuscan villas dating to the 15th century, Il Salviatino is surrounded by five splendid hectares of nature and private gardens immersed in the rolling hills of Fiesole, just ten minutes from central Florence.
The cuisine at Da Giacomo al Salviatino is focused on authentic Italian tradition, serving a menu that blends simplicity and refinement, using herbs, vegetables from Il Salviatino’s organic garden and a curated selection of local ingredients. The setting for this gastronomic experience is the unparalleled view of Florence and its monuments, which guests can enjoy from the panoramic terrace and the charm of Sala Affresco that still echoes the time when great masters such as Salvador Dalí and Gabriele D’Annunzio used to energize the place with their vibrant literary salons.
“Giacomo al Salviatino is a restaurant where you enjoy both stunning views of Florence and the delicacies of Tuscan cuisine,” says chef Rudy Saderi. “We always start with our signature mini pizza deep pan, lavished with mozzarella and bejeweled with capers and anchovies. I highly recommend following with the red prawn tartare with mandarin sorbet or the tortelli filled with cheese and black pepper, raw red prawns, lime and bottarga. Of course, the traditional Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Florentine T-bone steak) is a must, but you should definitely come again for our deep-fried prawns, langoustines and calamari with vegetables or the slice of turbot with tomato soup.”
Nicolas Auger, the hotel’s general manager adds: “We are a restaurant and a hotel for celebrations. It’s part of the very soul of the villa. I’ve lost count of the number of proposals we’ve seen on our belvedere,” he smiles. “Il Salviatino provides all the experiences of a casual luxurious resort where you feel immediately at ease and at home.”
