Villa La Massa, the five-star hotel near Florence, part of Villa d’Este Hotels, welcomes the start of the summer with enticing new features for hotel guests and external customers.
The poolside L’Oliveto Bistrot will welcome guests for dinner starting July 1. Named after the multitude of olive trees in the 10 hectares of hotel grounds, which produces choice Villa d’Este extra-virgin olive oil, the restaurant has a laidback vibe, set as it is in a renovated stone barn, with a charming outdoor patio enveloped by the shades and scents of the countryside. Natural hues, open beams and stone details define the interior, all of which are reminiscent of Tuscan traditions.
The evening menu is inspired by local cuisine. From 7pm onwards, Saturday to Tuesday, the Bistrot turns into a traditional Tuscan trattoria, whose highlights include Bistecca alla Fiorentina, pici and pappardelle pastas, and generous grazing boards of cheeses and charcuterie with coccoli (fried pizza dough), just to mention a few. Sweet regional treats like zuccotto, an ice-cream cake, and profiteroles bring dinner to a close.
A short distance from the city centre, it’s the perfect location for diners in search of refreshing greenery on hot summer days for a romantic Tuscan dinner for two or a night out with friends. And if summer laziness creeps in and getting back to Florence feels like a step too far, book one of the stylish rooms or suites with canopy beds, frescoed ceilings and elegant fabrics for a contemporary take on the Renaissance.
Villa La Massa welcomes guests on July 4 to celebrate American Independence Day. Bistrot L’Oliveto will come alive with live music all evening long, while guests dine out on an Italian-American menu of Tuscan antipasti, freshly baked pizzas, barbecue food and local wines.
