It’s spooky season and the city fills with ghosts and ghouls to mark the occasion. While not as big a holiday as you might be used to elsewhere, Italy still enjoys its share of frightfulness with events across Florence this Halloween, 2023.

Halloween Party at 25hours Hotel

Head to the “haunted house” of the 25hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino for “the weirdest party you’ve ever been to”. Taking place from 8pm to 1am on October 31, 25 euro includes drink + buffet + DJ set. The best fancy dress wins a one-night stay at a 25hours Hotel of their choice.

Bewitching bites at Hotel Calimala

Celebrate Halloween at Hotel Calimala on October 31 by grabbing a bewitching bite to eat and dancing the night away at the hotel’s ANGEL Roofbar & Dining. Getting spooky from 5 to 9pm, there will be a Mediterranean à la carte service, plus special Halloween-inspired treats and cocktails coupled with live music and spectacular views of the city’s skyline. From 9pm to midnight, guests can head to the dance floor in full costume for a spooky DJ set. Cost: 25 euro per person, including one cocktail.

Night tour at Museo Stibbert

The deadly interesting Museo Stibbert attracts thrill-seekers for a ‘Knights in the night’ tour from 7-10pm on October 31. Costing 13 euro for adults and 2 euro for children, booking is required via email: direzione@museostibbert.it or +39 055 486049.

Halloween at the Hard Rock Cafe

Halloween fun for little ones is back at the Hard Rock Cafe in Florence. On October 29, there’ll be a scary snack and magic show for families, with a dedicated scary sweet and savoury menu.

Children’s Lending Library

Halloween Run

Get ghoulish and take part in a themed 4km run from 8pm on October 31, with prizes for creepiest costume. Registration required by October 30.

The Scariest Party at Palazzo Borghese

Members of Borghese Social Club have an exclusive invite to Palazzo Borghese’s premium Halloween event, ‘The Scariest Party’ on October 31, with costumes required. Guests can indulge in a four-course dinner, accompanied by music from Lorenzo Meazzini and entertainment from the Palazzo’s own performers, followed by a party with DJ set from Max Gigliotti in the mirror gallery. Tickets cost 20 euro for the party, or 70 euro to attend both the dinner and the party. Entrance is reserved to members, with registration required.

Murder Mystery at YellowSquare

The Bargiù Club at YellowSquare, on viale Francesco Redi, will host a Murder Mystery night on October 31, with free tickets available online. The club venue will open at 11:30pm for a paranormal party atmosphere open until 2am, with music from DJ Simon Guidi. Spooky dress code, if you dare.

Day of the Dead at Locale Firenze

Locale Firenze will host a ‘Day of the Dead’ themed dinner and after party on the spookiest night of the year. The event starts with an aperitif, followed by a four-course dinner, and a curated wine and cocktail selection, alongside a show from Stranomondo Entertainment. The afterparty, from 11pm, takes place in a 12th-century wine cellar, giving a ghostly backdrop to one of the World’s Best 50 Bars. Tickets are available for the party for 50 euro, or the combined dinner and after party for 150 euro.

Halloween Ghost Hunt

Questo Halloween Hunt

Questo City Exploration Games is turning into Florence the setting of a haunted Halloween hunt, sending teams on the spookiest city tour of the year. Through the Questo app, participants will be guided on a journey around Florence’s scariest spots, solving puzzles and completing challenges, escape room-style, with the option to race against other teams or go at your own pace. This event will run in time slots between 5pm and 8pm, from October 27 to 31, costing 15.99 euro for couples or 29.99 euro for groups of up to six people.

Halloween party at Alice Libreria

To celebrate the scariest party of the year, Alice Libreria host a halloween party for kids from 4.30pm onwards, with a scary snack at 5pm, and a screening of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie at 6pm with popcorn. Free, with no booking required. Afterwards, there will be themed drinks and tarot cards for adults.
