Florence’s taxi drivers are holding a citywide strike today in a protest about the city’s council management of private hire vehicles and in an attempt to protect the taxi service from unfair competition.
The service will nevertheless be guaranteed for people with disabilities, transporting the elderly and the sick, and at night between 10pm and 2am, 4 to 8am.
