In this November issue, we launch a new column that offers unique insights into Florence’s beloved basilica of Santa Croce. The Florentine is honoured to be working hand in hand with Santa Croce over the next few months on a groundbreaking project to raise funds for the restoration of the loggia of the Pazzi Chapel. See page 35 on how you can get involved.

In this issue, check out two exclusives: an interview with the U.S. Ambassador to Italy John R. Phillips (page 23) and an article by British crime writer Christobel Kent on how Florence inspires her writing (page 30).

But The Florentine doesn’t really do exclusivity: it’s about the English-speaking community here in Florence, which is why we offer you the lowdown on the best places to enjoy Thanksgiving this year (page 34). The Florentine invites you to give thanks with us, in collaboration with the Florence Food Studio, at our Turkey Day dinner on November 27. Only 30 places available. For information on how to book, see page 17.

Next paper issue: December 4.
