An exciting new programme at The British Institute starts this month: SOTTO al British.

SOTTO al British is a brand new concept, a space for contemporary creativity in Florence, situated on the ground floor at lungarno Guicciardini 15 (direct street access). It’s a home for an eclectic mix of new international and Florentine creative projects and events, a buzzing hub for contemporary cultural exploration in the city.

The culture gets started with ON.irica, a team of young Florentine producers at the cutting edge of the local scene, to present UNDON3 on Saturday April 2 at 7.30pm. Expect a live performance in which an illustrator and a musician build a dialogue between improvised sound and image, amplified and projected to create a fluid and unexpected journey through multiple moods and atmospheres in a trippy immersive experience.

Other collaborations with ON.irica will follow, together with a range of other performances, exhibitions, workshops, discussions, art making, and other stuff that defies categorization!

Highlights already booked include the return of Placeholder Open Mic Night, a panel discussion about cross-cultural dating called You Are Not A Sex Shaman!, and regular life drawing and writers’ brainstorming sessions.

If you are a creative in Florence with ideas for what you’d like to do with SOTTO, contact sotto@britishinstitute.it.
