Formicola: Ant.

Example: ‘O Madonna!! La cucina l’è piena di formicole!!’ (‘Mother of God! The kitchen is full of ants!’)

Gagà: A friendly way to describe a well-dressed person.

Example: ‘Lui l’è un gagà!’ (‘He’s a sharp dresser!’)

Impappinarsi: (usually pronounced ‘impappinassi’): To become confused or make a mistake.

Example: ‘Aspetta nanni, mi sono impappinato, ‘un mi ricordo icchè ti voleo dire!’

(‘Hold on, little one, I got tripped up and don’t remember what I had to tell you!’)

Trattore: Not to be confused with ‘tractor,’ this is the person who runs a trattoria.

Example: ‘C’è Mario i’ trattore!’ (‘There’s Mario, the trattoria guy!’)
