On November 28, the
Football Club Palazzo Vecchio met the Amici del Calcio in its first friendly
match of the season at the Sancat field in Coverciano.

Undeterred by
ringers on their opposing teams (the captain of the Amici del Calcio is a
former player for the Fiorentina, Celeste Pin), or political differences within
their own team, the 18 city administrators and journalists who make up the
city’s squad took to the pitch with Mayor Matteo Renzi as striker.

‘The
traditional team of Palazzo Vecchio will continue again this year because it is
an excellent way to build team spirit and connect with all members from all
parties in the city administration. In this way we will use sporting events for
a charitable cause,’ said local councilors Giovanni Fittante and Marco Stella,
who help manage and play on the team.

On December 13,
Football Club Palazzo Vecchio next meets members of Verona’s city administration. The action takes place in
Verona, before the Chievo-Fiorentina game.
