On February 8 at the Mandela Forum, the Florence Gymnastics Centre will host the series A1/A2 Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics competition. 20 women’s teams and 18 men’s teams will compete in events such as the high bar, the balance beam, the vault, the still rings, the uneven parallel bars, and the floor exercise.
The event is held in memory of Nelson Mandela and money collected on the day will go to The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. A quote from Mandela reads on all the team’s clothing, ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done’ and the competition closes with one of his poems.
