March 24 – 30, 2014, is international #museumweek on Twitter. Across Europe, museums are opening up channels of communication with their online visitors.

Over the course of the week, daily themes with hashtags guide the discussion. For example, on Tuesday March 25, the theme was to challenge users with quizzes using the hashtag #museummastermind, while today people are sharing their #museummemories. The next few days will bring information about the museums as containers with the hashtag #behindtheart, while Friday March 28 you can participate in #AskTheCurator.

For the official list of all Italian museums participating, see here. Out of more local interest, we wanted to know which institutions in Florence and Tuscany were on board, so have made our own list below as well as a Twitter list. Follow them and join in to the conversation!
