April 25, 2014, marks the 70th anniversary of Italian liberation from fascism. The country was liberated, but what about its artworks?

To celebrate the liberation in Florence, on May 5, Ilaria Dagnini Brey, author of The Venus Fixers, will give a talk about saving Italy’s art during World War II. Her book, in fact, tells the remarkable story of the allied soldiers who saved Italy’s art during World War II.

The event, sponsored by the American International League Onlus and the Tuscan-American Association Onlus, will be held in English and promises to be an informative insight into Italy’s art scene during the Second World War.

Ilaria Dagnini Brey will speak at 5pm on May 5, 2014 in the Uffizi Library.
