Hailed as personality of the year by Time magazine, Pope Francis has won over Catholics and non-Catholics alike, many of whom hope that he will bring real change to the Church. In light of this, some Tuscan artists have dedicated a song to the pontiff.
Thomas Aspidi, of Livorno, managed the project to create ‘Amico Papa,’ with music and lyrics by Franco Nocchi, of Pisa. Three passages feature the pope’s voice and his messages to the world.
On April 11, the song, approved by the Holy See, will be presented officially to the pope at the Vatican. The CD will go on sale on the same day and will be available for download from all major online music sites.
All proceeds from sales will be donated to the Bambino Gesù children’s hospital in Rome.
