Don’t miss the final Balagan Café event of the season at Florence’s Synagogue: the Hebrew hub will close its summer series of concerts, lectures and aperitivi with an exciting pre-party and preview of the upcoming European Day of Jewish Culture (September 6). A bit of pop-up action begins at 6pm in piazza della Signoria, where prog-rock group Banda Improvvisa will perform. The festivities then move to the synagogue gardens, where an 8pm apericena will take place, followed by more music and celebrations. For full program details, see the Balagan Cafe website or call 055/2346654.interpol

MUSIC/ InterpolSeptember 1, 9.30pmPiazza Duomo, Prato

Interpol brings their inventive New Wave meets post-punk sound to Tuscany for the most anticipated concert of Prato Estate 2015. Fixtures on the alt-rock airwaves since 1998 and fronted by lead vocalist Paul Banks, Interpol rose to international fame with 2004 album Antics. The band takes inspiration from giants of the 1970s and ’80s, including The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen and Joy Division. Tickets are currently available in Box Office Toscana locations.
