Craft your own capolavoro at Museo Montelupo Ceramica

The Museo Montelupo Ceramica hosts family-friendly ceramic workshops this summer, giving visitors the opportunity to try clay modeling or ceramic decoration. Located a short distance from the Renaissance city in the ceramic ‘Factory of Florence’, Montelupo has a rich artistic history of ceramic production for some of Florence’s most notable noble families, including the Medici, Pandolfini, and Strozzi. Led by a master ceramist, this mindful arts and crafts activity takes participants through the various stages of the craft and includes a guided tour of the museum’s expansive collection, with ceramics dating from the 1200s to 1700s. Workshops are available to children as young as three and offered in both Italian and English, with snacks and refreshments also provided to ensure appetites don’t impact enjoyment! Participants receive an information kit, detailing the history of Montelupo and tips to explore the area, bringing the learning beyond the workshop as well as bringing home your own authentic piece of Tuscan art.
