AQVA at the Vatican Apostolic Library

Pontormo at the Scuderie del Quirinale

The Scuderie del Quirinale presents the first major exhibition devoted to Pontormo, opening October 9 through February 7, 2027. Bringing together masterpieces and works on paper from international collections, the show explores the Tuscan painter’s radical transition from High Renaissance to Mannerism, centred on his celebrated Visitation from Carmignano.
Haring at Palazzo Braschi
From October 6 to April 11, 2027, Rome’s Palazzo Braschi celebrates Keith Haring with more than 140 works tracing his career, from New York Subway Drawings to his political posters, paintings and sculptures. Exploring street art, activism and Haring’s belief in art for everyone, the exhibition also highlights his enduring connection with Italy.
Kandinsky at Palazzo Bonaparte
Palazzo Bonaparte presents more than 70 masterpieces in a major Kandinsky retrospective until February 14, 2027. Tracing his journey from Moscow lawyer to pioneer of abstraction, the exhibition includes works from the Centre Pompidou and explores his belief in painting as a universal language. Gabriele Münter’s work is also featured.

Dalí at Palazzo Reale
Palazzo Reale explores Salvador Dalí’s extraordinary relationship with fashion through January 31, 2027. More than 200 works and documents, including paintings, photographs, clothing, jewellery and film, reveal how shoes, garments and accessories became part of his surrealist vocabulary. The exhibition traces his collaborations with designers and fashion houses, blurring art and fashion.
Francis Picabia at Palazzo Reale
Milan’s Palazzo Reale also presents Italy’s largest-ever exhibition devoted to Francis Picabia spanning October 9 and January 24, 2027. More than 170 paintings, drawings, photographs and archival materials trace the restless artist’s journey across Impressionism, Cubism, Dadaism and abstraction. Framed by the metaphor of night, the exhibition explores Picabia’s lifelong fascination with transformation and reinvention.
Matisse at the MUDEC
The MUDEC explores the global influences behind Henri Matisse’s distinctive visual language from October 8 to February 21, 2027. Around 100 paintings, drawings and sculptures reveal his encounters with African, Islamic, Russian, Pacific and Chinese art. Rare textiles, photographs and decorative works offer a nuanced look at the cultural exchanges that shaped modernism.

Jessica Lange at the Musei Reali
Turin’s Musei Reali presents Still Image, a major exhibition of Jessica Lange’s photography between October 7 and February 7, 2027. More than 200 images covering nearly three decades reveal the actress’s poetic, deeply human gaze, from the American landscapes of Highway 61 to Mexico, New York and previously unpublished series exploring bodies, memory and loss.

Man Ray at Fondazione Magnani-Rocca
Fondazione Magnani-Rocca in Mamiano di Traversetolo, near Parma, presents Italy’s most comprehensive Man Ray retrospective until December 13, marking 50 years since his death. More than 300 works span photography, painting, sculpture, design, film and objects, tracing his journey from Dada and Surrealism to his pioneering experiments with rayographs, while highlighting his enduring relationship with Italy.

Carmen Thyssen Collection at Palazzo Albergati
Palazzo Albergati presents the Carmen Thyssen Collection for the first time from October 9 to March 29, 2027 with more than 100 works tracing Barcelona’s extraordinary artistic transformation. From Modernism and Symbolism to Cubism and Surrealism, masterpieces by Gaudí, Picasso, Dalí and Miró meet works by leading Catalan artists in a celebration of the city’s creative revolution.
Venice
Fucina degli Angeli at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection
The Peggy Guggenheim Collection explores the pioneering Fucina degli Angeli, founded in Murano in the 1950s, with more than 100 glass sculptures, paintings, drawings and documents. The exhibition traces collaborations with artists including Picasso, Braque, Arp, Fontana and Ernst, while highlighting Peggy Guggenheim’s crucial role in bringing Murano glass to an international audience.
