After just
one appearance in Florence, the controversial
summer rock fest, Italia Wave, has
confirmed its move to the seaside city of Livorno.
To be located in various venues ‘between city hall and the beachfront’, Italy’s
largest ‘free’ music festival comes with price this year.

Running from July 16 to 19, Livorno’s
first edition of Italia Wave will cost music lovers from 10 to 20 euro, depending on the event. Although day concerts will
be free, several highly popular evening performances will be open only to those
who have purchased tickets. The extensive line-up includes over 100 performances
and encounters, with concerts by the popular English electronic duo, The Chemical Brothers, as well as The Verve, who will perform songs from
their new album. Organizers report that over 2,000 young and emerging artists will participate in the annual
Italia Wave music competition.
