Claudio Salvadori, the young man who recklessly broke the hand off the “Biancone” statue in Florence’s Piazza Signoria last August, has made an official plea to Mayor Leonardo Domenici to do whatever volunteer work necessary to repay his debts with the city and with history. Though Salvadori offered to do any volunteer work available, he specified that, as he is a cook, he might be best used in the kitchen.
