The six people who were arrested last month for having allegedly abused several young children at the Olga Rovere nursery school in Rignano Flaminio, near Rome, have been released from prison. According to investigators, the accused forced numerous preschool children to take part in sexual acts with satanic overtones while filming them. The Roman court presiding over the case, however, released the suspects due to lack of ‘serious evidence’. This controversial ruling has since divided villagers of the small town, which is now ‘surrounded by an atmosphere of hatred and vendetta’ said the town’s mayor, Ottavio Coletta. Further details of the court’s decision will not be released for 30 days.
