On April 23, the first floor of Florence’s iconic and much loved Central Market will reopen to the public in a new, revamped format.

Spearheaded by Umberto Montano, Claudio Cardini and Aldo Settembrini, the renovation aims to restore a central role to one of the best-loved and most interesting spaces in Florence’s cityscape.

The revamped upstairs space will feature ten workshops, a restaurant, a pizzeria and a lounge bar, offering the very best of Tuscan food and an opportunity to explore the slow food culture. The project will go hand in hand with a cooking school run by Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici and a Giunti bookshop, and even a green delivery service and underground parking. It will be open every day from 10am to midnight.
