Giotto’s Madonna Enthroned, the Adoration of the Magi by Gentile da Fabriano, Leonardo’s Annunciation, Boticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, the Doni Tondo by Michelangelo, Raphael’s Madonna del Cardellino, Caravaggio’s Medusa, and Jean-Baptiste Chardin’s Boy Playing Cards and Girl with Racket and Shuttlecock: these 10 masterpieces on display at the Uffizi can now be appreciated by the hearing impaired through Italian Sign Language (LIS). InSEGNAMI l’Arte is a pilot project aimed at promoting accessibility to art by teaching the hearing-impaired how to ‘read’ these works in both written Italian and sign language.

For more about the project, see http://tinyurl.com/ctz258l. After the pilot phase of the project, it will be turned into a free app.
