Summer is over, folks, or near enough. Gone are those languid dolce far niente days on the beach or by the AC unit. Here are our September essentials to make the return to real life, be it school, work or whatever, more palatable.

Get organized

Virginia Di Giorgio’s Virgola (29.50 euro) brings joy to everyday objects with her 16-month agenda bound to bring a smile and organization back at your desk. Covering September 2023 through to December 2024, the agenda also lets you keep track of your finances, present purchases, and must-find films and books.

Summer scents

While it’s true that you can’t be on holiday forever, a room spray from Carola tra i Trulli means your own home can conjure up memories of the summer. We love the Fig Leaves fragrance (45 euro) inspired by the iconic Mediterranean plant and beautiful summer days in Puglia.

Get shirty

Inspired by nature, travel and life’s energy, you can’t go wrong with an Achilea shirt (145 euro) from Florence-based Serbian designer Natasha Kontic, aka Bastah. Made from 100% organic cotton, the mandarin-style collar, shorter front and relaxed fit will bring style and comfort to your late-summer, early-autumn wardrobe.

Smell the coffee

Coffee is more essential than ever in September. Dinicaffè has been roasting beans in Florence since 1939, so treat yourself to the Florence Coffee Box (24.30 euro), which includes two cute cups emblazoned with the Florence skyline and a pack of Autentica coffee.

Stay tropical

Wanting to hang on to that beach goddess look for as long as humanly possible? Try the Coop’s upbeat Chiringuito perfumed hair and body mist (2.90 euro). Coconut and argan oil refresh the skin and keep you smelling tropical.
