A new
children’s play area has opened in the heart of Isolotto. On
November 8, Tuscany’s health superintendent Stefania Saccardi and
president of Florence’s Quartiere 4, Joseph D’Eugenio, opened the
renovated space on viale dei Bambini, adjacent to the Baracche Verdi
senior center.

‘We are very
pleased that the financial investment of the community administration
and District 4 will help to rehabilitate an area that will be used by
citizens,’ commented Saccardi. ‘It’s another effort that
continues our work to give each child a green space in which to play
just 10 minutes from home.’

The new playground, which
cost 160,000 euro to build, features new surfacing, equipment and
games, and is in the first phase of work for the installation of a
high-quality drinking fountain. (j.b.)
