The clean-up has begun in affected areas in Prato, Campi Bisenzio, Vinci, Pontedera and the Mugello, although more rainfall is predicted this afternoon, causing authorities to urge citizens to stay indoors.

Tuscany is said not to have experienced this much rainfall in so short a time in over a century. Meanwhile, the Italian government is releasing five million euro to cover emergency repairs in Tuscany.
