After months of controversy, the Gino Bartali Museum in Ponte a Ema, Florence has finally re-opened to the public. The museum holds temporary ex-hibits and an important permanent collection of cycles, jerseys, biographies and stories of Italy’s great cycling champions, as well as an entire room dedicated to the titles won by Bartali. The closure was the result of disagreement during management negotiations involving the owners of the collection, the city and province of Florence, the city of Bagno a Ripoli, and the Associazione Amici del Museo del Ciclismo Gino Bartali, which established the museum.
