IMPRUNETA HARVEST FESTIVAL: LA FESTA DELL’UVA

WHERE: PIAZZA BUONDELMONTI & DOWNTOWN IMPRUNETAWHEN: 27 SEPTEMBER

Now 90 and counting, plus much loved by locals, the Festa dell’Uva is one of the oldest and most famous harvest festivals in Tuscany! It’s a fantastic way to experience a Tuscan wine festival just a stone’s throw from Florence (about 30 minutes by car or on ATAF bus number 37). Check out the fantastic floats in piazza Buondelmonti made lovingly by the town’s neighbourhood communities, be charmed by the festival’s very own anthem and stroll the town to see how local shopkeepers dress their windows for the occasion. Festivities run all day, but the big parade kicks off at 3pm.

Where to eat

Dig in to Tuscan specialties at the festival’s many food stands. There will also be a Peposo competition and a chance to try the winning recipe!

Where to sleep

Check out options on Booking.com.

What to seeDon’t miss the famous Sanctuary of Santa Maria downtown.
