The St. James Church, on via Bernardo Rucellai,
announces its brand-new pipe organ built by the world-famous Willis company,
founded in England in 1845. The church’s previous organ, severely damaged in
the 1966 flood, had been deteriorating for the past twenty years. Horace Gibson
was the chief fund-raiser for this important improvement, and Robert Heylmun
was also a driving force behind the project.

In celebration, on Saturday, September 19 at 8pm,
the church will hold an organ recital. Internationally renowned Colin Walsh
will play works by Bach, Bossi, Dubois, Elgar, Franck, Meck, Vierne and Widor.
Tickets for the concert (10 euro) will be available at the door from 7pm.
